The Swarajists (Home Rule party) in the Bengal Legislative Council received a set-back to-day, when the House voted for the inclusion in the Budget of provision. for the salaries of Ministers in charge of transferred departments. This the Swarajist obstructionists had previously rejected. The Government's victory was due to it. securing the support of a number of socalled Independent Nationalists, who had previously supported the Swarajists' policy.
