Alter having been 50 years in the ier« vice of the law, the last 11 as a Judga of the Supreme Court, Mr. Justice Hosi king delivered a reserved judgment, his last official act, in Wellington this morn-i ing. His Honor was afterwards bidder* farewell by the New Zealand Lay/ and the Wellington branch . at a verj* large gathering. f Mr. Skerrett, K.C., on behali of th« Dominion practitioners, said that high as had been the standard of the judicial Bench, His Honor need not fear to measured by that standard in the. miwl of contemporaries, or in the mind of pos4 terity, who were the ultimate judges. Iti would always be remembered that hd brought to the Bench a deep and com-i pendious knowledge of the law sad a wide experience of practice and human nature, while he left behind valuable expositions of the law, which would keep his memory green. _ Mr. Myers, K.C., spoke for the Welt lington Bar, and Mr. Justice Basking made a feeling reply, in which he regretted that his health did not allow him to continue to assist the profession iq which he had carried out his life's work*
