Ferner was yesterday appointed to represent the Auckland Education Board on the council of tho Workers' Educational Association in place of Mr. H. S. W. KiDg, who has retired. Mr. J. B. Mitchell, late district, traffic manager of railways-at Christchrirch, accompanied by Mn. Mitchell, arrived in Auckland by the Ulimaroa on Tuesday after an eight months' tour of England and the United States. Mr. Pope, of Auckland, has been selected from 25 applicants as consulting electrical engineer to the Uawa County Council.
