Father Long;, of Wellington, has gone to Westport to fill (he vacancy caused by the illness of Father Delvin. Mr. B. N. Pentycross, of London, Mr. J. Carton, of Christ church, and Mr. ],. Vincent, of Sydney, are at Hotel Cargen. Mr. M. O'Brien and Mr. C. Cross, of Christchurch, Mr. E. Perrett and Mr. W, Smith, of Wellington, are at tho Boyaj Hotel. Messrs. A. Gibbs, I). Williams, and R. J. Mann, of Wellington, Mr. E. S. Ranworth, of Chicago, and Mr. N. F. Cooper of Nelson, are at the Star Hotel. ' Messrs. I. K. Buchanan, G. Low, and J. L. Webb, of Christchurch, Mr,. John Fuller, of Sydney, and Mr. K. Rogers of Wellington, are afc the Grand Hotel Lord and Lady .Belper, of Nottinghamshire, and Lord arid Lady Somerleyton of Lowestoft, England, who arrived on Monday by the Makura from Sydney, hava left for Russell. Mr. H. P. Caughey left Ifor Wellington last evening to join the Rotorua fop England. Ferner was yesterday appointed to represent the Auckland Education Board on the council of tho Workers' Educational Association in place of Mr. H. S. W. KiDg, who has retired. Mr. J. B. Mitchell, late district, traffic manager of railways-at Christchrirch, accompanied by Mn. Mitchell, arrived in Auckland by the Ulimaroa on Tuesday after an eight months' tour of England and the United States. Mr. Pope, of Auckland, has been selected from 25 applicants as consulting electrical engineer to the Uawa County Council. He will supervise the erection of the council's electric light installation, contracts for which have already been let. Mr. 11 W. 1). Robertson, of New Ply, mouth, Mr. E. Fowler, of Russell, Mr. J. G. Dempster, of Dunedin, Mr. S*' : Mitchelson, of Sydney, Mr. G. J. Matthews, of Rarotonga, and Mr. J. Bockman and Mr. R. W. Reid, of Nelson, are at the Central Hotel. Dr. J. S. Purdy, city health officer at Sydney, Dr. A. S. Brewis, of Hamilton, and Drs. W. C. McCaw and C. J. A. Griffin, left for. Timsru last evening to take part in the annual conference of the New Zealand branch of the British Medical Association. Dr. W. H. Parkes leaver this evening.
