MYTHICAL FRUIT FARM.
IMMIGRANTS VICTIMISED. OFFENDER SENT TO GAOL. LONDON. Feb. 8. u I have a fruit farm in Anstralia and employ 70 men. I emigrated penniless, and am now worth a quarter of a million," Paul Watson, who is 71 years old, told two prospective migrants to Australia, who were taking a last look at minster Abbey. He added that ho possessed £4OO in Australian notes, and offered to change them for English. The migrants handed over £6, and Watson suddenly ran off. He was chased and captured. Elizabeth Kissan, a sister of one of the migrants, gave evidence that her brother and a friend were on their way to Australia. Watson was sentenced to three months' imprisonment.
