A COLOUR SEASON.
Tim coming winter will be a colour season, says a London fashion writer. But if. will be tint., rather than shade colour, pink, peach, apricot, salmon, soft powderblue, and much pale sulphur yellow, sonic (how to describe it?) new French peagreen. The silhouette for daytime and for evening as well remains absolutely straight; the last of the picture gowns seem to have made their appearance and departed. A great many day gowns have, as usual, no sleeves, a fashion which seems unpractical arid chilly for winter wear. Trains nowadays are scarves, and scarves are used 'for all purposes. They are designed as part of an ensemble. Until some innovator comes along to decree an entirely new atmosphere in dress, not, merely a change in detail and trimmings, wo shall continue to witness lovely clinging lines, which have never been' so perfected as they ai'e now, nor more becoming. Fringe, used in a new wav, is again favoured. If in silk, it is knotted, if of feathers it, is used as a border, deep and full, with none of the fluffy appearance which used to make it only suitable for chiffon evening gowns. It now looks neat and tidy, and is used on marocain afternoon frocks. Of new materials there is principally alpaca, which now goes by the poetic name of "Irana." There is crepelia, and there are Kashmir, Kasha, Kashandmp, and various poplins.
