GORGEOUS HANDBAGS.
Xi.vd and very effective is (lie square "sack" handbag, made of antique brocade, Chinese brocade for choice, which is mountod in silver filigree and inerusted with precious or quasi-precioin storm. This is, of course, an article de luxe, but really lovely. fteepnt.lv I ?a«' a of this order made t ,f old Chinese brocade. which had raised figures picked out in ivory on a dull bine ground (says a London writer.! In this case the mount was also ivory, with dull silver cords and iabsels with jewelled heads. The extravagant idea of hievustirig handbags, umbrella handles, even glove gauntlets with precious stones is on the increase. Black kid gloves have wide gauntlets incrusted with seed pearls and paste. Suede and brocade sicks have opals, garnets, and tiny rnso diamonds, studded all over them. A luxurious fashion this, but singularly effective when the gorgeous sucks or gloves are combined with severely plain frocks!
