MOTOR-CYCLE HILL CLIMB.
COMPETITION AT MANGEKE. A hill climbing competition was held' by the Sports Motor-cycle Club on Saturday afternoon on Mr. George Henning's property on the site of the proposed speedway at Mangere. The hill was in good order, and competition was keen. Mr. A. J. Roycroft on a Massey-Arran made the fastest time of the day. The results were as follow:— Open Class: H. Millar (5 Indian) 10 4-ss, 1; R. Gomas (5 Indian) 12s, 2- S Biss (2J Rudge) 12 2-ss, 3. 600 c.c. h.p. Class: A. J. Roycroft (23 Massey Arran) 9s, 1; W. Robinson (21 A.J.S.) 10s, 2; B. Tate (2| A.J.S.) 10s 21 h.p. Class: A. J. Roycroft (2f Mas-sey-Arran) 10s, 1; B. Tate (2| A.J.S.) 10 4-ss, 2j W. Robinson (2-J A.J.S.) lis 3. The course was altered slightly for the 600 c.c. and 2J h.p. classes, "and this probably accounts for the faster time. Acceleration Test: Gomas (7 Harlny.Davidson), 1. Fancy Driving: H. Miller (5 Indian). 1. A .championship event will be held shortly after the holidays.
