Amended regulations are announced bv the Department of Education as a result of the conference of educational authorities held last year. The existing regulations are superseded by new ones providing for the classification of pupils, the effective distribution of the staff, the preparation of a programme and timetables, professional training and the development of the civic or corporate life of the school.
Regulations regarding sick pay for teachers place them in a line with 'he officers of the Public Service.
The new regulations also provide for agricultural bursaries at State farms, agricultural colleges or the university, educational bursaries at the university and engineering, home science and domestic arts bursaries. Handicraft teachets certificates are also governed by the newregulations.
