AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE.

The tone of tbo Auckland sharcmarkct was unchanged yesterday, investment stocks being in good demand. In Government securities War Loan. 1950, had inquiry at £97 and the 1939 War Loan issue at £97 ss, holders not quoting. Soldiers' Bonds and Inscribed Stock were quoted at £101. Inscribed Stock, 1927-41, had buyers at £98, sellers £99. In banks Nationals of New Zealand, which had inquiry on tlie previous day at £6 14s 6d ; changed hands at £& 16s. Late buyers offered £6 15.% sellers £6 17s. Buyers of New Zealand? reduced their offers by 3d to 59s 9d, sellers again quoting 60b 3d. Union of Australia were .sought at £14, the new issue (fully paid) being quoted at that price. In insurance New Zealands had buyers at 31s, sellers quoting I 31s 6d, a reduction of 3d. South British i again had inquiry at 44s 6d, no sellers 1 quoting. In gas Aucklands again sold at I 24s 3d, further, buyers offering that price, sellers 24s 9d. In shipping buyers of ! Huddart-Parkers reduced their offer by !3d to 43s 6d, sellers 44s 3d. There was j a sale of Northern Steamship (contributi ing) at 8s 2d, late buyers offeriug 7s lOd, [ sellers 8s 6d. P. and 0. Deferred were | quoted at £310, a reduction of £2. In ; miscellaneous stocks there was a sale of ; Dominion Pictures ut 20s. In mining ' Waihis again had sale at 265, with further inquiry at 25s 9d, sellers 26s 6d. Kawa- | rau had buyers at 19s, sellers again quotI ing 20s 3d. Moanutaiaris were unchanged I with buyers Is 9d, sellers 2s 4d.
