Stevens, registered exceptionally good time for a straight-out swini.

The ladies' handicap, of 100 yds, saw tlie rivals, Misses I'. Page and J. Bell, battle for honours, the latter proving equal to the task of conceding a one second start to v, in in 75 4-ss.

Mount Eden residents' enthusiasm for the s[x>rt has definite shape in tho tfinc new bath which was officially opened on Monday evening. A capacity house witnessed the races decided by the Mount Eden Club and the applause of the schoolboy element in particular made it dn'Hcult at times to hear the official announcements. The bath appointments are ideal, except that the lighting arrangements are iar from satisfactory. Good entries were received for the 50yds inter-club handicap and the final was very close. It. Mount Eden and Maungawhau schoolgirls' championship, being tlie only competitor to face the starter. Pine Swimming Over 50yds.
