GLEN EDEN AFFAIRS.
QUESTION OF BRICK AREA.
The fortnightly meeting of the Glen Eden Town Board was held on Monday evening. The question of by-laws was dealt with by the board, which decided on a number of amendments to the existing bylaws, the principal being the adoption of a more equitable sliding scale in connection with building areas. The advisability or otherwise of adopting a brick area or the construction of (fireproof external walls in the shopping area, was left over till another meeting. A matter o£ great local interest, Rosier's subdivision, was again before the board. Mr. Rosier, supported by Mr. Porteous, waited on the board in an effort to secure revocation of the previous decision that the bv-laws should be adhered fch In order "to pave the way for a solution of the difficulty the board decided to consider any proposal that Mr. Rosier might put forward, with a view to re-arrange-ment of the subdivision, provided no expense attached to the board. _ _,v> The clerk was instructed to mform contractor for the Clayburn Roadthat the formation did not comply with trie specifications. . _ . . A report from the engineer on Rosier s culvert was read and it was resolved that, the engineer should state his requirements to the contractor. The board also instructed the works' committee to order further supplies of scoria for the work.
