TOWN BOARD MEETING.

The New Lynn Town Board met on Monday, the chairman, Mr. C. F. Gardner, presiding. There were also present: Messrs. A. Shaw, E. Stacey, I. Hughes, S. Wilding, F. Roberts and T. Brown. The right of transfer was granted to certain properties facing Wharf Street, which is an undedicated street, the properties in question having a water'irontage also. , Mr. A. H. Grandison submitted offers \ of* land to the board as alternative sites for municipal offices. One piece, fronting Titirangi Road, was 2| acres in extent, and the price asked was £760. The other was one acre on the Great North Road, and the price asked was £1645. A complaint was received regarding an. alleged unsightly building used as a garage, it being stated that benzine or other tins were used largely in its construction. It was resolved that an investigation be made of the. by-laws before any action is taken. The building inspector reported that >■ during the past fortnight, nine permits had been granted, of an estimated gross, value of £5086. There were 15 houses in course of erection. It was resolved to form a footpath i.p a portion of Portage Road, the foreman's estimate being £39. Cvcle-riding .on footpaths was the subject" of a complaint. It was resolved to appoint Mr. Slano traffic inspector to deal with the nuisance.
