AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE.

There was again good demand for investment stocks on the Auckland sharemarket yesterday though the volume of business transacted was not great. In Government securities War Loan. 1930, appreciated ss, buyers offering £97 ss. The 1938 and 1939 War Loan issues were also sought at £97 ss, holders not quoting. Soldiers' Bonds and Inscribed Stock were quoted at £101 ss. In banks New Zealands again had sale at 61s 6d, more being available at that figure, late buyers offering 61 3d. Australasias had buyers at £13 8s 6d, sellers £13 12s 6d; New South Wales buyers £40 ss, sellers £41 ss. There was inquiry for Nationals of New Zealand at £6 14s and for Unions of Australia at £14 2s 6d. In insurance New Zealands were again sought at 30s 6d and South British at 445, without response. Standards changed hands at 41s 9d, late buyer offering 41s 3d, sellers

42s 6d. In gas Aucklands again had buyers at 245, sellers quoting 24s 6d. Gisbornes wanted at 13s, were quoted at 16s. In shipping Huddart-Parkers were sold at 445, further buyers offering 43s 9d, sellers 445. Northern Steamships again had buyers at 16s, sellers 16s 9d. Buyers of P. and 0. deferred increased their offers by £1 to £307, sellers £3.'.6. In timber there was a sale of Kauris at 30s 3d. late sellers quoting that figure, yuyers 29s 9d. Nationals changed hands at 245, with further inquiry at 23s lOd, sellers 245. In miscellaneous stocks there was a sale of * aimers' Auctioneering A (pref.) at 18s, with further inquiry at 17s. In mining buyers of Waihis reduced their offers by 3d to 25s 6d, sellers 2654 d. Waihi Grand Junctions again had buyers at Is Bd_. sellers 4s 3d.
