MEETING OF THE COUNCIL.

[BY TELEGRAFH.--OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON. Wednesday. ' The Waikato County Council met yesterday, the chairman, Mr. J. P. Baily, presiding. It was reported that gorso was flourishing on certain roads under the council's jurisdiction. Members were of opinion that, as ratepayers were notified by the noxious weeds inspoctor to clear their land, it behoved the council to set a good example. It was left Lu the hands of Mr. T. 11. Henderson to inspect the area in question. The Ngaruawahia' Borough Council notified that the Ngaruawahia traffic bridge had been repaired, the cost being shared by the Ngaruawahia Borough and the Saglan and- Waikato Counties. A suggestion that the bridge bo tar sealed was considered to be impracticable this financial year. The State Advances Department advised that, owing to tho demands made on its resources, it could not at present entertain the application for the proposed workers' dwellings loan. With regard to an application for £1000 of the Orini Road loan, tho department, stated that the council would bo advised when a decision was made,.
