AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE.

The tone of tho Auckland sharemarlcet was again good yesterday, there being general inquiry for investment, stocks. In Government securities Inscribed Stock, 1938, changed hands at £97 10s. with late inquiry at £97 ss, sellers £98. War Loan, 1930, was sought at £97, and the 1938 and 1939 War Loan issues at . £97 7s 6d, holders not quoting. In local tody debentures there was a sale of Auck;°'

Harbour Boards, 6 per cents., at £103, more being available at the same figure, late buyers offering £1.02. In ordinary debentures New Zealand Breweries had sale at 21s lOd, further buyers offering 21s 9d, sellers 21s lid. In hanks Nationals which were inquired for on Saturday at £6 _ 13s 6d sold at £6 15s, late buyers again offering £6 13s 6d. New Zealands were again sought at 61s, sellers 61s 6d. Buyers offered £14 Is for Unions of Australia without response. In insurance buyers increased their offers of New Zealands by 3d to 30s 3d, and South British were inquired for at 43s 3d, no sellers quoting. There was a .sale of Standards at 41s 9d, with late inquiry at 41s. In gas there were transactions "in Aucklands a *ii bll ye r offering 24s 2d, sellers 24s 3d. In shipping Huddart--1 arkers advanced 3d, buyers offering 43s yd, sellers 445. Northern Steamship had inquiry at 16s, sellers again quoting 16s 9d. Buyers of P. and O. deferred increased their offers by £1 to £306, sellers advancing by £3 to £318. Miscellaneous stocks remained practically unchanged. In mining Waihis had buyers at 265. sellers again quoting 26s 6d. Waihi Grand Junctions were again wanted at Is Bd, sellers 2s 3d. Moanataiaris were unchanged with buyers at 2s, sellers 2s 4d. ihe following sales took place:—New Zealand Inscribed Stock, 1938, £97 10sAuckland Harbour Board 6 per cent debentures, £103; New Zealand Breweries debentures, ols lOd; National Bank of New Zealand, £6 15s; Standard Insurance, 41s 9dj Auckland Gas, 24s 3d.
