PRESENTATION OF PRIZES.
WORK OF THE MAORI GIRLS.
The annual distribution of prizes and the breaking-up ceremony of the Queen Victoria School for Maori Girls, Parnoll, took place yesterday. The chairman, Mr. A. B. Roberton, said the splendid work being carried on by th« principal. Mips Broroton, and her efficient staff was demonstrated by the progress shown in the year's work at tho school. Bishop Av»rill congratulated Miss Brereton and har staff as well as the students, on their year's work. He expressed the appreciation o* tho board of directors at the school's pio-rress, and appealed to the girls to use their religious training to good effect. The hall, and school were beautifully decorated with rope« of Dorothy Perkins rosea and greenery, which gave a delightful touch ■to an interesting function. In tho evening tho older girls acted _ a scone from "Kin? Lear," which was enjoyed by a good audience.
