DIAMOND KING STOLEN.

PROBATION FOR TWO YEARS.

A young man whoso name was ordered to be suppressed, pleaded guilty in the Police Court yesterday, before Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M., to theft of a diamond ring, valued at £25, tho property of F. Gayle-Wyer.

Detective Barling said accused had, when residing at a city hotel, found the ring in the bathroom and sold it for £2 10s. Accused had been quite frank and had told witness ho had not disposed of the ring until he was satisfied its loss had not been advertised.

Accused was admitted to probation for two years.
