For carrying letters to and from a prisoner at Wormwood Scrubs Prison, Edward William King, formerly a temporary warder, was fined 5s on each of wo summonses by the West- London

magistrate lately. King took a letter from a prisoner t< a friend. Later he carried a reply. He placed this reply, however, under the wrong man's pillow, and it was found by another warder. King was taken before the governor and dismissed. The letters referred to personal matters. - King said he was offered £1 to take the letters, and as ho was in debt ho accepted..
