FREIGHT RATES BY RAIL.
FURTHER REDUCTIONS MADE.
KEROSENE AND WOOL.
Further reductions in freight charges on the railways have been made by the Railr ways Department in addition to the reductions on benzine published last week. The freight charges on kerosene have been brought into line with those on benzine, as follows:—Lots under One ton at class A, plus 22£ per cent.; lots one ten and over at class B, plus 25 per cent.
The department has also made a reduction in the rate for carriage of wool by rail, the surcharge of 40 per cent, formerly carried by this commodity being now reduced to 25 per cent.
