THE LITTLE STAR GIRL.
Tho Moon Master was teaching the stars a 'new dancc. "One, two, twinkle; one, two, twinkle," he chanted.
A little girl-star named Stella, out of sheer mischief, danced with a stiff leg. and a little boy-star named Bright begai. to laugh. The Moon Master was so furious that he muttered a few words and Stella felt herself falling.
"I'm sinking to tho earth," she wailed. "Save me, Bright!"
And then she found herself in a field dressed in clothes like earth childr.en. Up in tho dark sky she saw her star brothers and sisters still doing their twink ling dance, and she could plainly see Bright blinking messages down to her, but somehow she couldn't understand them properly, boing on earth. Presently it began to get light, and Stella yawned—daytime is tho bedtime of the stars. She was nearly asleep when a number of school children ran past her.
"I'll go with them," sho thought. "CaD you read and do sums?" whispered a little girl. "It sounds stupid, but I can dance," yawned Stella, and tried a new step. "She can't do anything," the girls told each other, and when sho got to school she was put with the babies. But in the playground the children crowded round her and she taught (.hem the Moon Master's special parado. By and by the children went home for their dinner and Stella was left alone. Sho felt very sad and lonely as she looked up into the bright blue sky. "Stella, I'm here; tho Moon Master sent mo.' 4 And there was Bright, dressed as a little bov carrying a bundlo of starshine in his hand.
It didn't take more than a second to sprinkle the starshino over each other, and back they were in the sky. The sct.ool children thai night noticed a star thai was particularly twmkly. They didn't know it was the little girl who had taugnt them to dance!
