POLLS TO BE TAKEN TO-DAY.

MT. WELLINGTON ROADS SCHEME

A poll of the ratepayers of tho Mount Wellington Road District will be taken between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. to-day, at tho Mount Wellington Road Board's office, on the proposal to raise a loan of £30,000 for road improvements.

The schedule of the proposed loan is as follows:—Construction.of a concrete highway along the two portions of Great South Road, within the district, £7700; construction of a bituminised macadam road along Ellcrslie-Pahmure Road, from Ellerslie town district boundary to Panmure town district boundarv, £5700; construction of a similar road along PanmureOtahuhu Road, from Ellershe-Panmure Road to Portage Road, £8600; purchase of road-making machinery and plant necessary to carry out the above-mentioned works, £3500; expenses incurred in raising the loan, also first year's intorost and sinking fund, administrative ayrd other charges in connection with the "proposed works, £4500.
