NORTH OTAGO LANDS.
EXHAUSTED STATE DENIED. PROTEST BY THE FARMERS. [BT. TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] OAMAKU. Friday. A largely-attended meeting of tho North Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Association to-day resolved unanimously to protest against the report of the commissioner of Crown lands, Otago, that tho lands in North Otago wero ncaring exhaustion. Tho resolution is to be sent to tho Minister for Lands and Agriculture, tho member for tho district, and tho commissioner. Several speakers contended that the land jn North Otago, instead of nearing exhaustion, had been immensely improved in recent years by judicious farming.
