ANOTHER " BLACK" SHIP.
TALLY CLERKS' GRIEVANCES,
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 5.5 p.m.) ADELAIDE, July 27.
The steamer Waimarino, which was loading wheat at Wallaroo, has been held up, owing to the decision of the agents to engage tally clerks outside the Clerical Union. The waterside workers struck in support of the clerks and declared the
steamer "black."
QUEENSLAND STJSAR CROP. (Reed. 5.5 p.m.) BRISBANE, July 27. The Queensland sugar crop is expected to yield 323,(XX) tons. This would be a record.
REBUKED FOR STRIKE THREAT.
SYDNEY. July 26.
In the Arbitration Court, Mr. Justice Quick rebuked ; the Federated Enginedrivers' and Firemen's Association of Australia for threatening to strike while its plaint was before the Court. The Judge said that it would be inconsistent with the dignity and independence of the Court to proceed further. He refrained from making a final award.
