THREE HINTS.
Wet-Boots.—An excellent way of drying . .boots or shoes that have.got wet is to fill j them . with dry oats as soon as they are ; taken off. The oats will quickly soak up the moisture and will fill the boots or shoes like a tight-fitting last, ' swelling with the moisture and preserving the shape. They .should be left all night and the oats shaken out in the morning. Windows.—A tablespoonful of. kerosene added to a gallon of tepid water and used for washing windows and mirrors will give them' a wonderful lustre. A simple and satisfactory way of cleaning windows is with- newspaper. Soak the newspaper in Warm water for cleaning, and polish with dry newspaper. Grease Spots.—An easy and effective , way of removing spots from silk is to ■ cover the stains with powdered magnesia and then hold the fabric near a fire. Tho heat will cause the grease to be absorbed by, the powder, which can then be easily brushed off.
