EAST TAMAKI FATALITY.
VERDICT OF THE CORONER.
An inquest concerning the death of Mrs. Dorothy Maddock, who was drowned in a creek at East Tamaki on Monday, was held yesterday by the district coroner, Mr. A. McKean. The evidence showed that deceased had been depressed since receiving a letter from her husband asking tor stay of proceedings in reganJ to an application for maintenance for herself and two children. The coroner returned a verdict of. suicide while temporarily mentally deranged. .-'-.,

BOTH CARS OF SAME MAKE.
ONE FROM PRIVATE STAND.
Two five-seater Chevrolet motor-cars were unlawfully removed > from City streets last evening.
One of the cars, No. A 374, belonging to Mr, G. M. Hobday, of 35, Seaview Road, Remuera, was removed from Commerce
Street. Mr. Hobday left the car at 7.45 p.m. and when he returned at 8.40 p.m. it had disappeared.
The other car, No. M.U.1039, was parked by the owner, Mr. K. N. Pitt, of IS, Queen Street, on the Auckland Auto-
mobile Association's private stand in Victoria Street West, at 5.15 p.m., and it had disappeared at 7 p.m. It was recovered shortly after midnight having been abandoned in Wellesley Street East, outside the Public Library^
