NOTES FROM WAIHI.
GOVERNMENT DRILL ARRIVES
PREPARATION FOR WORKING.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —OTVS CORRESPONDENT. ] WAIHI. Tuesday.
The Government diamond drill, which is to be used in testing the Waihi Grand Junction mine below the eleventh level, arrived here this morning under charge of the superintendent, Mr. W. H. Warburton, and was transferred to the mine during the day. The necessary chamber for the machine has been cut out in the mine, and the drill will be put into commission with as little delay as possible. The Thames Valley Electric Power Board representative, who has been canvassing the townspeople in connection with the reticulation of Waihi, has found a good demand from business firms for cur rent for power purposes as well as lighting, and has had numerous applications from householders for lighting and heating.
