RESTRICTIONS IN RAGLAN. J"B1 TELEGRAPH.OWN CORRESPONDENT.} HAMILTON. Thursday. The practice of erecting hoardings. and advertising* signs on country •' roads was discussed at a meeting ;of the Raglan County Council yesterday, when a circular was _ received* -from the Counties Association asking for the co-operation of the council in prohibiting this unsightly means of publicity. The * chairman, . Campbell Johnstone, said the county should use all means in its power to curtail the erection of advertising signs for, apart from spoiling the appearance of the landscape, they constituted a danger to horses and cattle, which were inclined to take fright at them. V . , It was resolved to prohibit the erection of hoardings and advertising signs on roads in the county without permission ! from the council.
