A novel defence was put forward at the -Magistrate's Court; to-day when two motor drivers were charged'with driving motor-lorries in the borough at night without tail-lights. . - Mr. Cohen, counsel for defendants, submitted that lorries were used extensively for carting benzine. 1 Electrio flights - on. motor-lorries were -not' a "success, and, would not stand .vibration, .while" it was extremely dangerous; to .(. use naked lights.; : ; The magistrate ; said ': ,that i if \ there ; was danger ■ in -; driving 4a > lorry loaded 1 with • benzine at night, the solution was not j to drive it.. A lorry on the road at night without a tail-light was a real ■ danger. ' The difficulty would have to be faced.A conviction and -• small .. fine were * imposed. *
