LBV TELEGRAPH. CORRESPONDENT ) HAMILTON. Friday. Further progress in the arrangements for celebrating the founding of Hamilton was reported last evening, when the Mayor. Mr. J. R. Fow, presided over a well-attended meeting. The Governor-General, Lord Jellicoe, will attend the old identities' luncheon in the Town Hall, but will be unable to arrive in time for the celebration gathering at the memorial park on May 27. . Hie original flag carried by the 4th Waikato Militia at the historic landing will. be available, and will be carried in the procession. Owing to the limited time on Saturday May 31 (Sports Day), and the difficulty of obtaining the number of cars required, it was decided to delete the children's joy -i'ide from the' programme. The Mayor's special diamond jubilee medal will be given to the winner, of the Fire Brigade one-man coupling event. All members of winning teams at the sports meeting will be given gold commemoratiye medals, and special money prizes of £3, £2, and £1 will be awarded those who provide most amusement in the comic action and dress competition. i
