ART GALLERY AND MUSEUM.
FLEET WEEK VISITORS.
The heavy influx of both town, and country people to the city this week has greatly increased the daily attendances at the Public Library, the Art Gallery, and the Museum. A record attendance of 2129 was registered at the Art Gallery on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. The average daily attendance is about 400. On Monday there were 761 visitors*, A noteworthy feature of the increased attendance at the library was the number of children, nearly 200, who,patronised the children's department on Tuesday. Record figures have been established at the museum since Saturday, The previous highest total for one day was 995. On Saturday over 1000 visitors inspected the exhibits, and on Tuesday the attendance was estimated at over 1500. Yesterday more than 1000 school children visited the museum.
