THE PAKURANGA HUNT
MEET AT MAN GERE.
A very fair day's sport resulted, yesterday when - hounds met somewhat later than usual at the s pound, Mangere. The meet will live long in the annals of the hunt!, owing to the attendance again of Lord and Lady* Jellicoe, and to their being accompanied by a number of important visitors and officers of the Special Service Squadron. I The .Vice-Regal' party consisted of Lord and Lady Jeilicoe, the Hon. .Lucy and the Hon. Prudence Jellicoe, Captain the Hon. Alexander Ramsey, Judge Field, brother of Admiral Field, of H.M.S. Hood, | Lieut Edwards, and Midshipmen ; Viscount f Borodale., - Litchfield, Spear, and Rodd, and {'he ' members of Their - Excellencies' staff, :•; Captain A':' R. W. Curtis, Lieut.-Commander Dove, and Captain R. E. Southey. . . > A number of visitors from the city and surrounding districts also motored out, while. the nuniber ■of followers assembled was greater than Usual. The weather was ideal for • sport. ' ; j The hounds moved off and proceeded to Mr. Mcßae Peacock'® farm, \ the pack being cast off in the vicinity of the homestead, and . after working about for some time v hounds found.' Fairly good t' sport ( was provided on this property, and several short bursts were much enjoyed. : Later, hounds I were taken on :to Mr. P. Bickerton > Fisher's land,. where a strong hare was v soon -afoot and provided - the run of the afternoon. It went over Mr. Bickerton Fisher's ff arm, across ; ; the top end of Mr.X :T.I; Kenwood's land; ' over / the road, and after f describing a circle on Mr. M. B. Kirkbride's property was pushed back to, and forced - along, - the road again, but Was eventually : lost after a: run - much enjoyed by all followers. < .a, . Hunting s for the >; afternoon concluded shortly afterwards, : and the master, Mr. H.; Bullock-Webster, expressed j on« behalf of the hunt much pleasure ;at the attendance of the visitors. ;; Three hearty cheers were then given for the, visitors.
