THE WAIROA MEETING.

FIXED FOE JUNE 7.. [BY XStEOBAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.J. DARGAVILLE. Tuesday. The Australasian championship . sculling race has been definitely fixed to take place on the Northern Wairoa River, Dargaville, on June 7, over a course three and a quarter miles, for a stake of £500, subscribed by local residents. The preBent entrants are:W. McDevitt and Geo. Ceruti, Australia j W. (Mason, Whangarai; and Darcy Hadfield, Auckland. Several inquiries have abo been made by prominent scullers from Australia, and it is expected that at least seven will compete. •

The race is the first of its kind for the Australasian championship, and is attracting considerable attention. McDevitt, Ceruti and Mason are already training on the river, and Hadfield is expected next week,,
