COALMINERS' DANGERS.
DISEASE ON THE INCREASE. (Received 5.5 p.m.) Sun. LONDON, April 27. Giving evidence before the Court of Inquiry into the coal industry dispute Mr. Cook, the miners' secretary, referred to the increased amount of disease among the men. This, he said, was principally nerve paralysis, which was due to lack of proper nourishment and affected the eyes. Many victims were going to lunatic asylums. The chairman, Lord Buckmfister, agreed that the industry was associated with ter ; rible and horrible risks, which must be considered in relation to wages.
