MAIN TRUNK "EXPRESS".
TRIP FROM WELLINGTON DEPARTURE THIS MORNING. A TWO DAY JOURNEY. NIGHT AT OHAKUNE. CHILDREN TO SEE FLEET. ["BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Monday. An announcement was made to-day by the general manager of railways, Mr. K. W. McVilly, that an Auckland express train would be run to-morrow. The train leaves Thorndon at 8 a.m., travelling as far as Ohakune, where passengers will have to spend the night. The train will proceed to Auckland the following day. In addition to ordinary suburban trains, a mail train was despatched to Napier to-day. The train, which consisted of 11 cars, was crowded. It was in charge of a regular guard, one of those who have resumed work. It is the intention of the department to extend the suburban services as from to-morrow, so as to cater not only for workers coming into and returning from the city, but also for those desiring to travel during other times of the day. Trains will be run to-morrow to bring school children in from the Hutt \ alley to visit the warships, and later in the week it is hoped to bring Manawatu children down. Arrangements will also be made for the conveyance of officers and men of the fleet to Palmerston North on Thursday. Departmental officials express themselves as well pleased with the manner in which men are offering to return to •work.
