TRADE UNION IN JAPAN.
MOVE FOR RECOGNITION. TOKIO. April 7. The enactment of a comprehensive trade union law is only a matter of time, declares the Social Bureau of the Home Affairs Department. The absence of such a law now means that no union is officially recognised. A recent meeting of the General Labour League resolved on an alteration of policy, stressing legislation as a means of carrying out its objects, and also recognising the International Labour Conference. Other labour bodies in Japan have followed suit. They intend to send representatives to Parliament as soon as the Ministry's attitude is announced.
