FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT.

STEERING GEAR BREAKS. FARMER';;! DAUGHTER KILLED (BY TELEGRAPH.— ASSOCIATION.] TIMARU. Monday. A fatal motor accident occurred on the Tycho Flat Road yesterday afternoon, through a car overturning, and causing the death of May Black, aged 17, daughter of a farmer at Salisbury. The car was driven by Mr. Black, the girl's father. The steering gear broke and the car swerved and ran up an embankment. Mr. Black was pinned beneath the car on one side and his daughter on the other. The car rested on the girl's neck, killing her instantaneously. Mr. Black sustained a broken arm and broken collarbone, some broken ribs, and also internal injuries.
