The Paris correspondent of the Daily Express says that Madame Fahmy told the magistrate she never knew Cassab Bey till he wrote from Cairo offering her £120,000 from her husband's fortune. Later, he increased the offer to £640,000. Then came the Paris trip, and Cassab Bey pestered her with a scheme to make millions by simply registering herself at a lying-in home. She refused, but later, with the connivance of the police, consented to accompany Cassab Bey if the latter found a doctor willing to sign a i birth, certificates
