LEGAL ARGUMENT CONTINUED

Legal argument was heard in the Supreme Court yesterday by Mr. Justice Herdman in the i application for possession of a' Clevedon property brought by the Manukau County Council (Mr. Prendergast) against a farmer, Donald McDonald (Mr. Beckerleg). Defendant contended that he was entitled' to a lease in pursuance of a council resolution, which, however, was later rescinded. He counterclaimed for specific performance 'of the lease and £100 damages, or alternatively for £71 special and £200 general damages. His Honor remarked that though the case was a comparatively trivial one, there wejre important points of law involved. The case was adjourned for further argument ' .__
