SEARCH FOE MURDERER.
BORDEN BANK MYSTERY. Australian end N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 11.55 p.m.) LONDON, April 7. A large force of local police is scouring the country around Borden, searching for clues which would lead to the arrest of the murderer of Mr. W. Hall at Lloyd's branch bank. The search in the district is based on the belief that the murderer was not a motorist from a distance but a man with an intimate knowledge of the Bank and its surroundings. Scotland Yard detectives have so far not been invited to assist the local police, though the bank is anxious for their help. The police are very hopeful regarding a new clue. Miss Meaton, a cook, attached to the officers' mess at the nearby military camp, states that she was passing the bank at 2.10 p.m. on the day of the crime, and saw a motor-car with a man inside. As she passed she heard a report like a motor-car missing fire. She now believes it was a revolver shot. Later two rough-looking men were seen inside the cars
