LUDENDDRFF TRIUMPHS.

ELECTIONS IN BAVARIA. PARTY GAINS IN STRENGTH. NOW SECOND IN DIET. QUARTER OP THE SEATS. EXTERNAL' LIBERTY NEXT. By Telegraph Association—Copyright. (Eeceived 11.30 p.m.) A. and N.Z. LONDON. April 8. The Berlin correspondent of the Daily Chronicle says that the Bavarian election-! for the new Diet held yesterday were a triumph for General Ludendorff, as in Saxony, Thuringia and Mechlenberg the flowing tide was with the extremists. Though the Communists doubled their representation it was at the expense of the Moderate Socialists, while the Middle Parties lost heavily to the new HitlerLndendorff Party. The latter has won a quarter of the s'jats in the House, and is now second only in strength to the Bavarian People's Party. Speaking after the polling, Ludendorff said: "Our cry is, 'through internal liberty to external liberty.' " About 80 per cent, of the electors voted. Ludendorff prominently participated in the campaign, and mado speeches to his followers in the famous beer cellar where the Hitler revolt was suppressed. A message from Berlin states that at the opening of his electoral campaign Herr von Stresemann, ex-Chancellor, reiterated a former Chancellor's statement that it was impossible to continue contracts under the Michum (Franco-Belgian Mission of Control. Ho vigorously protested against Germany's position being made a starting point for a fresh accusation of passive resistance, which was how Paris threatened to interpret the discontinuance of the contract. He asked if the old game was to begin again just when the expert reports were about to be presented. The States of Germany favoured direct negotiation between State and State.
