As a result of the general elections for the State Parliament, the state o f the parties is: Labour 24, Liberal 16, Country Party 2, doubtful 4. It is expected that the final returns -will give the Labour Party a majority over all other parties. Sir H. N. Barwcll, Premier, attributes the Government's defeat to the entry of Country Party candidates into Liberal constituencies.
