Coatcs, Minister for Railways, on Saturday, to go into the matter of improvements to the Taupaki railway station. Ho was asked' to lengthen the platform and place safety rails at the back, to provide a suitable ladies' waiting room and to run the mid-day train on Saturdays. Remarking that he could see fhe district was growing, Mr. Coates agreed to have the improvements carried out at once. A request that a money-order departs ment, he added to the post office was also granted.
