BRITWELL LIBRARY SALE.
RARE SHAKESPEARE RELIC. (Received 5.5 p.m.) Renter. LONDON, April 4. Mr. Rosenbach, of New York, carried off an outstanding Shakespeare relic at Sotheby's sale of the Britwell Library today, namely, a copy, dated 1652, of 'The Rape, of Lucrece." He paid £1860 for the volume. Only five others of this edition are known to exist. In. five days the sale has realised £77,675, Mr. Rosenbach having contributed £63,392. The sale will last for three more days. »
