HERALD SPECIAL FORECAST. The following weather forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening: A continuance of cloudy and unsettled weather is likely, with very heavy rain, particularly in Northern and East Coast districts. Thunderstorms are probable in the North, with risers' heavily flooded. Easterly to northerly winds, moderate to strong, and squally at times. Seas riugh y especially t>n East Coast. High barometric pressure still rules over the Dominion, but tropical influences, associated with a very extensive tropical disturbance, continue, to the north-west of New Zealand. These conditions are a contributing ' factor to the present abnormal weather, and in consequence there are at present uC prospects of a definite improvement. Barometer, midnight—3o.lsin.; steady.
