SPORTS ABANDONED.

SATURDAY'S WET WEATHER. Th© sports fixtures arranged for Saturday were abandoned, consequent on the heavy rain throughout the day. The first day's events of the Auckland Trotting Club's meeting were postponed until Wednesday. The cricket, lawn tennis, and bowling matches were abandoned. The King's College annual athletic sports were postponed until Wednesday. The opening practice games, for Rugby football , were interfered with by the rain, and although in one or two instances players turned out the practice was of little value, as it was more or less of a scramble. The annual inter-faculty championships of the Auckland University College, postponed from Friday, will be held on the Domain to-day, commencing at 2 p.m.
