GRADING OF TEACHERS.

QUESTION OF UNIFORMITY. .EXCHANGE OF INSPECTORS. With the object of testing the degree of uniformity that has been obtained in grading teachers in different education districts, the Minister for Education has approved of a temporary inter-change of senior inspectors for" three months from April 1. The following are the changes: Mr. C. W. Garrard, Auckland to Wanganui; Mr. W. W. Bird, Hawke's Bay to Auckland; Mr. F. G. A. Stuckey, Wanganui to Canterbury ; Mr. W. Brock, Canterbury to Wellington; Mr. A. L. Wyllie, Southland to Tarahaki; Mr T. R. Fleming, Otago to Southland; Mr. J. A. Valentine, Taranaki to Nelson; Mr. G. Pitcaithly, Nelson to Hawke's Bay; Mr. F. H. Bakewell, Wellington to Otago. Similarly with the idea of testing the uniformity of the grading of primary school teachers, the department has arranged an exchange of schools for inspectorial purposes. The following Auckland schools will be visited by Wanganui inspectors:—Te Kuiti, Taumarunui. Okahukura, Taringamutu, Waituhi, Mokauiti. Mangapehi, Ngapuke, Ngakonui, Mapiu, Kaitangiweka, Aratoro, Tangitu and Tiroa. The following Wanganui schools will Be visited by Auckland inspectors'Ohakune. Raetihi, Manunui, Kakahi, Owhango, ITmumuri, Rangata.ua, Piriaka. Kukapapa, Raurimu and Horopito.
