STANLEY BAY FERRY.

BETTER SERVICE DESIRED.

The proposal of the Devonport Steam Ferry Company to meet the wishes of the residents of Stanley Bay for a direct service by putting on the steamer Kiwi during certain hours of the day, was considered by a meeting of Stanley Bay residents on Wednesday evening. The meeting considered that the Kiwi was quite unsuitable for the service and the view was expressed that more boats would be available were the better class of boats to coal itt night, thus permitting a speeding up in the time-table. The meeting finally decidod to ask that, in addition to the present direct service, all boats between 9.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. and. midnight call at Stanley Bay.
