ESSAY COMPETITIONS.

Prizes for the best essays by school children on subjects connected with kindness, to animals are offered by the committee of the New Zealand Society for the Protection of Women and Children and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The competition is open to all children attending primary or secondary schools and residing within the province of Auckland. The prizes vary from £1. to 2s 6d.
