THE MILITARY PAGEANT.

NEXT WEEK'S ATTRACTIONS.

The arrangements; in connection with the Military Pageant to be held at the Domain next week were discussed at a meeting of the management committee of the Auckland Military Sports Association last evening, Mr. J. P. Kalaugher presiding over a large attendance. It was reported that the Public Works Department had placed its electrical equipment at the disposal of the association, and Messrs. A. B. Wright and J. J. Craig had offered the loan of suitable horses. Information was received from Wellington that the R.N.Z.A. personnel and the horses that had been specially trained for the jousting would arrive in Auckland on Saturday morning. The committee decided, owing to the danger to children, that no motor-cars be allowed in the domain during the pageant. Captain Ansell reported that the railway; officials at Auckland had declined to issue excursion fares. As excursion fares were granted in Wellington, the committee decided to communicate with the Minister for Railways at once. Judging by the energy displayed by the staff and volunteers, the pageant will be a decided success, the attractions, as enumerated in an advertisement in this issue, being comprehensive in the depiction of the army through the ages.
