BROKEN STREET LAMPS.

FOUR HUNDRED A YEAR. JUVENILES IN TROUBLE. A number of juveniles appeared at the Magistrate's Court in Wellington on Saturday, when three were charged with breaking street lamps and five with being in the possession of firearms. Senior-Sergeant Lander stated that the City Council had complained that over 400 lamps were broken each year, the damage being attributed to mischievous youths. The youths were severely admonished by the magistrate, and those who were charged with being in possession of firearms were remanded for two months.
